Get down and boogie – celebrate 40 years of the iconic disco movie SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER

On Friday 28 July, catch a special screening of the newly-restored Director’s Cut of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER at Schonell Theatre, St Lucia, Brisbane.

Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, the ‘quintessential’ disco movie is back on the big screen – digitally remastered in high resolution and looking better than ever – with extra footage re-added under the guidance of the film’s director, John Badham. These scenes were removed before the original 1977 premiere.

Arrive from 6.30pm for pre-movie disco dancing with Kristian Fletcher – Brisbane’s Prince of Retro – and relive classic disco hits of the late Seventies.

Following this is a screening of the new Director’s Cut of SATURDAY NIGHT FEVER at 7.30pm

The plot? A Brooklyn teenager feels his only chance to succeed is as the king of the disco floor. His carefree youth and weekend dancing help him to forget the reality of his bleak life.

The idea for the film came from an article in New York magazine, and the finished product showcases the music, dancing and subculture surrounding the ‘disco era’.

Starring John Travolta in his breakthrough performance as Tony Manero. With a soundtrack of Bee Gees hits including Night Fever, Stayin’ Alive, How Deep is Your Love and many more!

Can you dig it? Prizes for best dressed, so get creative!
