Academy Award® winner James Marsh (The Theory of Everything) directs the incredible true story of amateur sailor Donald Crowhurst (Academy Award® winner Colin Firth, The King’s Speech, The Railway Man) and his attempt to win the first non-stop single-handed round-the-world yacht race in 1968. The story of Crowhurst’s dangerous solo voyage and the struggles he confronted on the epic journey while his wife, Clare (Academy Award® winner Rachel Weisz, The Light between Oceans, Youth), and children waited for his return is one of the most enduring mysteries of recent times. The Mercy sails into cinemas March 8.

What a touching movie this was, although drawn out at time this film reminded me of the movie Gravity except it was set at sea and no Sandra Bullock or Gearge Clooney . Without Colin Firth in it I may have struggle to keep interest in it. The question I came away with is, if your are embarking on an adventure would you still continue to set sail even though you are really not as prepared as you would like. Would you leave commonsense behind all because the people backing you demanded you do so otherwise you and your family would loose everything . We all have dreams . What are you prepared to sacrifice to fulfill yours .
