Make music more accessible. Forget territory restrictions and only putting releases in certain countries, music should be available on a world-wide scale so everyone can enjoy it.
I would staple a dead skunk to my scalp and run barefoot
and naked through a barb-wire warehouse,
then out the other side into a crowded music shop
singing THE TIME WARP
while handing out leaflets stating :
‘ SAVE THE MUSIC INDUSTRY ! ‘
I would make music cheaper – tracks starting from $1.69 is way too expensive for people these days. If tracks started from say 10 cents I think there would be a lot less music piracy.
Simple really: Stop treating your customers like criminals.
To save the music industry I would firstly get rid of DRM and then devise some way to bring the beatles back to life and hold a ‘zombie beatles’ tour. ‘Can’t buy me brains’ and ‘You’ve gotta hide your brains away’ are top hits.
Create more music venues with free music, encourage more cheaper music festivals and put an end to illegal music downloads!
Chuck Norris. He can fix anything. Jokes. Music should be free and accessible to all. There are no benefits to territorial restrictions and only results in time lags between releases o’seas and releases here in Oz plus some hits never even make it here which is really sad.
Make music downloads about $1 per song or less. Or make a system like Guerva more popular where companies pay the download fee in return for you watching their commercials, or viewing their products.
Start a program that gives a keytar to every newborn to encourage a more musically literate population.
Embrace local bands and community radio stations and the Aussie music industry ! support our locals !
I would provide more venues for musicians to perform and people to see and hear LIVE music. Goverment grants and funding would be needed to support the industry and make the music available to the masses.
I LOVE listening to music!! To make music more accessible, I would make music downloads free for everyone and have cheaper and/or free local music festivals.
To save music, I would make people with ipods and mp3 players get little speakers instead of using their earphones. Instead of music that you can only hear, there’d be music played everywhere you go and all different types at that! We’d be sharing the music love, people!
i would create a new facebook page called save the music industry and get as many people to join as possible so as to create awareness
I would organise a music festival and get some big names to perform. As you enter each person is given a free MP3 player loaded with the performing artists music and a voucher to download other music from the net. Awesome!!
I’d get naked.. Kidding. I would make festivals and shows more affordable, that way everyone has the opportunity to enjoy the ear candy.
Does the music industry need saving? The major problem with the music industry is it is style over substance. Maybe get rid of music videos – so the the focus is on the music rather than the image of the perrformers! Or is that a bit too radical?
Throw free venues, encourage more people to make music, have jam sessions and just have fun! Carnivool de musica!!! Woot Woot. It would be so much fun! Everyone could make music!
i think iTunes is doing a good job. maybe make it 99c a song like the US! that would be cool.
What would I do to save the music industry? I am already doing it with my startup musyo.com
We are taking iTunes, Pandora and YouTube down and giving control back to the artist!!
great music will survive itself. the music industry doesn’t need to anyone to make it survive – if u’re good, ppl will pay for your music. by “survive” many think about making the millions.
i will only make good music or niche music to make music industry survive.
Cheaper tickets, more free/benefit concerts, strangle Justin Bieber….
or make like the beatles and tell everyone all we need is love and music should be free
Music is worth saving, an ‘industry’ is not. Industries come and go – to pretend otherwise is only delaying the inevitable.
I would sacrifice Lady Gaga to the electro gods!
Start a show like the famous ‘Countdown’ by Molly Meldrum and personally interview great and up and coming rockstars about their music and air it live. I would ask them not only about their lyrics but also about their guitar/musical style ….Ahh those were the days (much better than reality tv)
Great movie. It was a laugh a minute. I would highly recommend it for anybody who needs some cheering up! Shows the dark side of being famous (somewhat exaggerated) but nonetheless, a great insight to how the other side lives. And great “sayings” that I plan on using in the future!
I would see this movie again.
