Synopsis:
Ellie and her friends never thought their quiet country life would ever change much. Heading into their last year of high school, they decide to camp for the weekend in a remote bush clearing. When they return, their parents have disappeared, their phones are dead, and all power is out. Soon, the horrible realisation becomes all too clear – while they were away, thousands of foreign soldiers invaded their country. The war has begun. Now Ellie and her seven friends must band together to stay alive…and fight back.

Ellie
Ellie is my favourite character
Ellie. But this is based on the book version and yet to see how the character translates on the big screen.
You see, I’m a nerd so of course it’s Lee. He’s a solid introvert but he’s dependable, passionate and kind. At the same time later on in the series he’s a complete psychopath. A vicious, dangerous and murderous nerd!
Homer Yannos
Robyn – Chick is FIERCE!
Fiona – despite the unimaginably hard circumstances they find themselves in, Fiona stays loyal to who she is. Also, being a bit spoiled, she finds their new lifestyle a lot harder to cope with, but she manages, which means it’s more of an accomplishment for her than for the others.
Homer because he is, in my head, a big lug of a guy, but a softy, and he sees the funny side in things.. even when they are blowing up, say, a war ship
Fiona… Crazy, Blonde and Brave
Corrie. I was lucky enough to meet John Marsden at the Brisbane Writers Festival when I was in high school. He told me I reminded him of Corrie. Just hope I don’t suffer the same fate
I’m a Homer fan
Homer – he’s one of the characters that changed the most during the series, from a wild teenager to a leader
Lee, He seems so cute in the book! I loved the whole of the series as well as the ellie chronicle series! Lee is responsible, reliable and his charachter and his experiences in the book always made me keep reading!
Homer Yanos!!!
I could relate to him
Ellie
My favourite character is Fi (Fiona Maxwell). She continually surprises Ellie (narrator of the books) by her resilience, even though given her privileged and sheltered upbringing she seems the likeliest to crumble under the pressure of their situation.
To be honest, I don’t have a favourite character as I have never read the books… however, if I see the movie, I’ll be sure to let you know who my favourite is in my review! *grin*
Ellie – there’s not enough brave, strong chick role models in literature, let alone movies!
KEVINNNN FTW ! lincoln lewis <33
That would be Ellie. I hope that in similar circumstances, I would be as brave as she.
My first reaction was to say Ellie – but am going to go with Homer.
He is a strong leader with a cheeky kid side that is just bursting to come out at any oportunity! As the books progress you really see the complexty of his character and I grew to love his heart of gold!
Definately Homer. Just from a personal growth point. He really became someone the others believed in and trusted.
Homer, he’s the absolute rock in the team
Ellie for sure. She turns into fierce warrior.
Never underestimate the Nerd – Nerds rule! – Lee is the bestest ever character!!!
Fiona. Out of the characters, she grew and changed the most.
Defs Ellie, she’s strong and brave but still a little vunerable….
I must admit when I first saw the shorts to this movie I didn’t really expect too much. Upon watching it however I was gripping my seat and wrapped up in the whole storey line. Makes me want to go out and purchase the book series! I thought it was a fantastic movie that kept your whole attention on it just in case you missed a bit!
Am planning on taking some family members to see this movie as well because I am positive they will have the same reaction as me. It is a movie to be seen!
Something that all Australian’s can be proud of!
