Synopsis:

Between These Lines, written by Michael Butler

2nd-5th June, Mina Parade Warehouse

You have heard of 6 degrees of separation

Here is a play that explores this concept, BETWEEN THESE LINES, written by Michael Butler, beautifully displays the way in which we are all connected and how our choices influence each others future, whether it is consciously or without realising.

A funny, moving and realistic drama, BETWEEN THESE LINES is a snapshot of human experience that examines a day in the life of a cross section of characters from pre-schoolers through to those in aged care.

Who belongs to whom? How are they connected? What happens when these worlds cross?

The result: both humorous and far-reaching consequences, proving that the simplest actions can have the greatest impact.

REVIEWS:

@kayreeee: @reviewbrisbane #betweentheselines: the acting was brilliant, the story, not so much. My sister and i enjoyed it muchly though!

Damian Jones: Review for “Between the Lines”. Thought it was worth seeing although some parts i thought were a bit dragged out. Good story line with an amazing cast. Some really amazing up and coming tallent. 7.5/10

Warren Berry: Saw Harvest Rain’s performance of “Between the lines” last night. Was very impressed with the standard of acting from such a young cast. A great interweaving storyline based on the six degrees of seperation theory. Particularly mention to Kristen Barros who played the part of matilda, she stole the show. Another great production from the harvest Rain team and well directed by Catarina Hebbard. Interesting venue but the show is well worth seeing. Fantastic job and cant wait for your next production.

Nerida Hart: BETWEEN THESE LINES is yet another stand out performance put on by HAVEST RAIN TC’s interns. My initial reaction post the cast walking off the stage was simply “Is it over already?”. I think that pretty much sums up the performance as a whole. It was easy to get lost in the storylines as there are so many characters that you form bonds with – love them, hate them, love to hate them, hate to love them, love them then hate them (I could go on forever).  I was always amused and enjoyed the complex web of inter-relationships between the characters appearing before my eyes.

A special mention needs to be made to the director Catarina Hebbard for managing so many actors in such a small space, without letting the audience be overwhelmed or confused by the script. Needless to say – the actors themselves did a great job at portraying the differing characters they each had to play, ranging from 5 year olds, teenagers, adults, and senior citizens – and most often, a combination of two of them.

A great way to spend an evening and support up-and-coming actors that are blossoming before our eyes. Get in quick, only a few performances left, and at only $15 its crazy to miss it! 4/5
