Stockholm was originated in 2007 by groundbreaking British theatre company Frantic Assembly, whose unique physical style combines movement, design, music and text. Frantic Assembly is celebrated internationally for creating thrilling, energetic and unforgettable theatre, and this remounting of their jaw-dropping Stockholm with top Australian actors Socratis Otto (Wolverine, Matrix Reloaded) and Leeanna Walsman (Star Wars Episode II – Attack of the Clones, One Perfect Day) guarantees a heart-stopping night at the theatre.
*This production contains frequent strong language and is recommended for audiences aged 16+*

REVIEWS:
c/o Dimitri Simiakis: Stockholme was a masterful piece of theatre, at all times engaging and often confronting. The actors were superb, and never quite let the audience ‘settle’. It is beautifully discomforting and the set alone is worth the ticket price! Visual effects, a great score, movement,
narration, rich characters surround the central theme of the dangerously destructive inter-dependency of modern day relationships: a brilliant night at the theatre and I would highly recommend it to anyone!
Samantha Vasella: This evening I attended La Boite Theatre to see a performance of “Stockholm.” I thought that it was an amazing piece of theatre. Music, movement and dialogue were used to create a pretty powerful, intense experience for the audience. Altogether it was an excellent show.
The story revolves around a young couple, Kali (Leeanna Walsman) and Todd (Socratis Otto), who are in love – obsessively in love, really. As the play progresses the audience becomes aware of the darker undercurrents in their relationship, which swings between happiness and despair, love and loathing and brutality. I was impressed by the quality of the acting and I liked the way the actors alternated between speaking to each other and directly to the audience, letting us inside their minds.
All I have to say about the stage setting, lights and sound is wow! All of the technical aspects of the production were top notch. I would highly recommend this play.
@peterjblack: stockholm was amazing … original, gripping, provocative theatre … superbly written, staged and performed (thanks@reviewbrisbane)
@TrishwaH: #Stockholm is erotically neurotic. The twists are captivating. The play is a must-see. /cc @reviewbrisbane
Rachael Moore: The play ‘Stockolhm’ at La Boite theatre was very good. We are not spared in this tale of ‘love gone wrong’ and the majority will identify with this story …It’s also presented in a very creative manner with much dynamic use of body language, which you’re unlikely to see again ! If you dont mind swearing – to illustrate a point, you will enjoy Stockholm
Nerida Hart: STOCKHOLM by BRYONY LAVERY is not just your usual theatre production to take your Grandma along to on an evening out. It is far far better. Thanks to the team at LA BOITE, I got to experience this performance first hand, and experience I did.
You are thrown into the midst of a love affair between Todd (SOCRATIS OTTO) and Kali (LEEANNA WALSMAN). This starts off to be quite a quite normal relationship to the naked eye, however as time progresses we get an insight into the relationship between the characters to see all the underlying emotions, infatuation, trust(or mis-trust), despair, dependency and physical attraction that love tends to bring out in the best of us.
We are engaged through a dialect that is humorous and witty that makes you think about what is really being said. Written superbly we transfer through first person to third, and in past, present and future states to fully grasp the effect of love that can consume everything in people’s lives.
They don’t describe this as physical theatre for nothing. Otto and Walsman work wonders together as they portray our two lovebirds in their intimacy. GRAHAM and HOGGETT the Directors and Choreographers did wonders to capture this pure love state in the movements around such a small and confining stage area. A special mention has to include the sex scene on the stairs that just cannot be missed!
I need to also make a special mention of the sound and lighting team who brought the mood to another whole level. Their craftwork was amazing and I was really impressed by the professionalism and ambiance that was created.
Overall, STOCKHOLM is not a play for the prude or easily offended. Don’t let that put you off however, because this is a performance that I beg you not to miss. 4/5

my heart on a platter
The sexiest dinner I have made is creamy garlic prawn.
It may not sound sexy – but Moroccan-style lamb shanks! I made a really delicious, complex curry paste and added freah apricots, dates and plums. Sweet and meaty! Mmmmm.
Definitely fondue! I made it for my fiance and it made for some interactive fun…
Without a doubt a raspberry souffle. It is also possibly the hardest dish I have ever cooked for love.
A rich, creamy butter chicken curry with all of the best freshly ground indian spices, accompanied by a soft, smooth, and complex Pinot Noir wine and soft flickering candlelight and long stemmed red roses – of course ! Strawberries and liqueur chocolates for dessert, with a botrytis semillion dessert wine.
Strawberries dipped in Chocolate Fondue. Simple and Sexy
It was my first curry, made from scratch with whole spices, slow-cooked on the hob, left overnight in the fridge and served up the next evening and boy it was hot! hot! hot!
Spring evening. Top of the hill in a park. Large picnic blanket, tea light candles, vino and a wicker basket full of food. Actual meal irrelevant. Bliss

Stir fried BBQ steak w/ Asian greens followed by chocolate mousse. And of course French toast in bed the next morning.
