Season Starts 10 June
Synopsis:
This is a diamond of comic and theatrical invention.
Ionesco’s absurdist masterpiece is a brilliant balance of the intimate and the epic, has a cast of hundreds (OK, most of them are invisible), is highly physical (think Marx Brothers frenzy), and its climax is one of the greatest in modern theatre. In Martin Crimp’s sparkling translation it’s sharper and shinier than ever.
Poppet and Petty-Pie have been married for centuries, or maybe only 70 years. They live in a house surrounded by water and pass the time with private games and half-remembered stories. Tonight they are preparing for a great party at which the Orator will deliver the ultimate message: the meaning of life. As guest after guest arrives, the chairs pile up and everything is in expectation…

I pass the time by being on Twitter and Facebook a lot!
I like to get out my motor bike and go for a ride into the mountains and relax under a tree
I read mills and boon stories. Wish my life was as exciting as characters in them!
I read biographies while listening to Massive Attack.
I like to head to west end or the valley buy a book, sit at a cafe and then order countless coffees.
As I grow older, I find time passing more and more quickly!! So, I try to spend as much time as possible with my beautiful niece and nephew – cooking, playing, going to the art gallery and making things. They’ll be teenagers before I know it – have to enjoy them before they are embarrassed to be with me in public!
I go to the cinema, once a week, to escape reality and watch a film. Nice and relaxing.
Also love going to GoMa, to look at art and watch their free movies, too.
I love going to live theatre and watching new, unique and quirky plays.
I like to pass the time by making up a rhyme
It doesn’t matter what the words say
As they form into an array
Poems, stories, free flow and more
So many verses to explore
Before I know it the page is filled
With wonderous thoughts to be distilled
